3KW Grid-Tie Wind/Solar Hybrid System
HY-GRID-3KW
Wind and solar hybrid energy systems offer a unique way to offset a home's electrical bills. By utilizing both wind turbines and solar arrays to generate electricity, hybrid systems are able to overcome some of the disadvantages of using just one form of renewable energy.
Solar and Wind Hybrid Generation Systems
At night and low wind, all the electricity is supplied by the mains. During the daylight or the windy hours, the system generates some power, offsetting the consumption of electricity from the utility and cutting electric bills. The balance of the kWh required by your loads is automatically drawn from the input lines. If the system are producing more electricity than you are using, the system will feed the surplus of the energy back to the utility. It may even spin your electric meter backwards, further reducing your monthly bill.
Because the peak operating times for wind and solar systems occur at different times of the day and year, hybrid systems are more likely to produce electricity consistently throughout the year.
